Aborda as origens dos carros Budd nos Estados Unidos até a chegada dos primeiros para a EFCB, e em seguida apresenta detalhes de cada tipo de carro, com dados, fotos e desenhos. Por fim as automotrizes de bitola larga, com a descrição de cada tipo, também com fotos e desenhos.
Ao final um anexo sobre a fabricação dos carros Budd no Brasil, especialmente para as ferrovias paulistas e os trens metropolitanos. Impresso em offset em papel couche brilho, com todas as legendas em português e inglês, e tendo ao final um resumo do texto em inglês.

This book is about the broad gauge streamlined passenger trains built by Budd for EFCB: “Santa Cruz” and “Trem de Prata” (Rio de Janeiro – São Paulo), “Vera Cruz” (Rio de Janeiro – Belo Horizonte) and the RDC cars, and is is divided in four main parts.
In the first part it shows the development of the new Budd cars for EFCB in 1948. The second part presents the details of each type of car with data, photos and drawings. In the third part the history of the prestigius trains of EFCB. The last part presents the broad gauge rail diesel RDC1 and RDC2 cars, or “Litorinas”, with the description of each type and the history, also with photos and drawings.
At the end a special section with a brief history about the production of the Budd cars in Brazil, especially for the railroads in the state of São Paulo and the suburban trains. All photo captions are in Portuguese and English, with a summary also in English covering the basic history of the Budd cars in Brazil.
